The highly energy-reduced diet will give a weight loss of 0,5-0,9 kg per week in the first 6 months. This is achieved by reducing the total energy intake by 300-500 kcal (1,3-2,1 MJ) at moderate energy reduced diet or by 500-1000 kcal (2,1-4,2 MJ) by strongly reduced energy cost. The minimum intake recommended not under 1200 kcal or 5.0 MJ.</p>
